relating to senior housing and entity level investments. Prior to joining Kensington, Mr. Van Syckle was
the administrator in charge of the mortgage and real estate division of
the State of Michigan Pension Funds. During his career at the State of
Michigan Pension Funds, he was responsible for the acquisition of $1.5
billion in mortgages and in the growth of the equity real estate portfolio,
which now exceeds $3.8 billion. Included in the total was the creation
and acquisition of the real estate operating companies valued in excess
of $2 billion. Mr. Van Syckle received his bachelors degree
from Western Michigan University. He is an active member of the Pension
Real Estate Association, Urban Land Institute, and National Association
of Real Estate Investment Managers.
